South Carolina Trip - March 2019
Our latest adventure ...
We traveled to Columbia, South Carolina to visit the Riverbanks Zoo and the wildlife at a local lake. To the right, the white egrets and blue heron show a dynamic contrast with the reflection from the lake. Below you can see that I experimented with the "up close" views of the zoo animals with the telescopic lens.
I used my new travel bridge camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ1000, and I was quite pleased with the camera size (lightweight), versatility of the built in zoom (25mm to 800mm), fast focus, and sharpness of the final images. This mirrorless camera is best for travel and hiking, combined with a "fly fisherman" chest pack. I avoided the hassle of lens exchange in the field typically done with my DLSR camera.
